Toyota has launched a new Leader Edition of the Fortuner 3-row SUV in the Indian market. Based on the diesel 4x2 variants, the new Fortuner Leader Edition comes with some additional features and few exterior changes. The company has also revealed that it has sold over 2.5 lakh Fortuners in our market since its inception in 2009. Interested buyers can book the new Edition online or at authorised Toyota dealerships across the country.
Toyota has not released the price of the new Fortuner Leader Edition. The company said that the prices will be revealed at the dealership based on the "accessories fitted for the specific requirement". The existing Fortuner 4x2 diesel is priced between Rs 35.93 lakh and Rs 38.21 lakh. We expect the new Leader Edition to be priced slightly higher than the regular version.
In terms of features, the new Toyota Fortuner Leader variant gets dual-tone seat covers, a TPMS, auto-folding wing mirrors and a wireless phone charger. It comes with new black alloy wheels, and new front and rear bumper 'spoilers' (part of accessories installed by dealerships). The SUV is available with three dual-tone colour options - Super White, Silver Metallic and Platinum Pearl White, all with contrasting black elements.
Powering the new Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition is a 2.8-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that produces 204hp and 500Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. With a 6-speed manual gearbox, the torque output drops to 420Nm.
Commenting on the launch of Fortuner LEADER EDITION, Mr. Sabari Manohar – Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Their evolving preferences and desires for enhanced features and driving experiences motivates our relentless pursuit of excellence. The Fortuner LEADER EDITION is crafted to elevate its bold style statement with more add-on features, while imparting an unparalleled sense of power and distinction. The Fortuner LEADER EDITION is a testament to Toyota's resolute commitment in providing best-in-class offerings, leading the way with power & style.
