The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra is constantly posting over 60K monthly sales in the past 1 year in India. In order to further boost sales, Mahindra & Mahindra has announced a massive 15000 crore investment Ito establish its largest integrated manufacturing facility for automobiles and tractors in Nagpur, Maharashtra. This production facility will have an annual production capacity of over 5 lakh vehicles.
The company is preparing multiple new models based on the new flexible architecture, called the NU_IQ. Moreover, the existing models will be upgraded in near future. In this article, we will talk about the upcoming Mahindra SUVs in the Indian market over the period of next couple of years -
The updated Scorpio-N has already been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. It is likely to receive cosmetic design and interior changes. The 2026 Mahindra Scorpio-N is expected to get revised headlamps, tail-lamps and fog lights, and newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels., and an upgraded grille and lower bumper.
The cabin will receive majority of the changes, including a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It will also get a 12-speaker sound system with Dolby Atmos for immersive audio experience. In terms of features, the Scorpio-N facelift will have a dual-zone climate control, an electric sunroof, ADAS tech, and a 7-seat configuration. Mahindra could also offer a digital driver’s display and a panoramic sunroof with the new Scorpio-N.
The Scorpio-N facelift will continue to be offered with a 2.2L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engine. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The higher-spec diesel model will continue to be offered with 4x4 drivetrain.

Mahindra is aggressively testing the Vision S concept based SUV, which is rumoured to be the smallest model in the Scorpio lineup. The SUV is rumoured to be introduced in the first quarter of 2027; however, the testing of the production-ready model hinted at a nearer launch. The SUV could be revealed before the end of this year with sales could begin in early 2027. Measuring under 4 meters in length, the Vision S SUV will mark the debut of brand’s new NU_IQ modular platform. This flexible architecture is compatible with ICE, hybrid and EV powertrains, and will support vehicles measuring between 3990mm and 4320mm.
The new Mahindra Vision S based SUV will debut the brand’s new interior design language, featuring a dual digital screens separated from each other by an AC vent. The good thing is that Mahindra has added physical buttons for multiple functions for the central console, including air conditioning, music controls and others. In terms of features, the baby Scorpio will have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, LEVEL 2 ADAS, a 360-degree surround view camera and others.
It is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo diesel engines. The SUV will also receive hybrid and electric powertrains at a later stage. If media reports are to be believed, Mahindra’s hybrid powertrain is likely to utilise the 1.2L turbo petrol engine.

Alongside the new Vision S concept, Mahindra had also showcased the Vision X sub-4 meter SUV concept. This concept based SUV is expected to be the next-gen Mahindra XUV 3XO. This SUV will be designed and developed on Mahindra’s new front-wheel-drive modular platform, called the NU_IQ. The concept rides on 2665mm wheelbase, which is longest among all sub-4 meter SUVs on sale in India. The production model could see a minor reduction, but a longer wheelbase promises more space in the second-row and bigger boot.
The compact SUV will carry a more coupe-SUV like design with inspiration from the BE 6. In fact, its cabin looks largely identical to the one offered with the Vision S. The SUV is will be offered with both petrol and hybrid powertrain options. It is expected to be launched by 2027-28.
