The legendary Skoda Octavia RS is finally making a comeback to India in 2025, but this time as a limited edition model. With pre-bookings opening on 6 October and deliveries beginning from 6 November 2025, excitement is already running high among car enthusiasts.
Here’s why the comeback of this performance sedan is being seen as one of the most exciting new car launches in India 2025.
The Octavia RS is not just another sedan; it’s an icon. Ever since its first launch in India in 2004, the RS has built a reputation for being fast, fun, and practical at the same time. Over two decades, it has developed a loyal fan base who see the RS badge as a symbol of driving thrill and European engineering.
Every time Skoda has introduced an RS model in India, the response has been overwhelming. The last version sold out in days, even though it carried a high price tag. That legacy is expected to continue with the 2025 edition.

Skoda Auto India is keeping the RS launch highly exclusive. Only around 200 units will be available, imported as Completely Built Units (CBUs). Being so rare makes it a car people really want.
Under the hood, the RS gets a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing about 265hp, mated to a DSG automatic transmission. This makes it one of the most performance-focused sedans you can buy in the Indian market right now.
Yes, the expected price of over Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) makes the Octavia RS a costly proposition. But Skoda isn’t targeting mass buyers here. Instead, the car is aimed squarely at enthusiasts who value performance, exclusivity, and brand heritage over affordability.
In fact, Skoda itself describes the return of the RS as “bringing back an emotion.” That statement perfectly reflects how much this car means to its loyal community.
The 2025 Skoda Octavia RS is set up for a successful launch in India. The RS badge has been known for over two decades for its performance, precision, and driving fun. Previous models sold out quickly even with high prices, showing that there is strong demand for this sporty sedan.
Exclusivity adds to its charm. With only around 200 units being imported as Completely Built Units (CBUs), the Octavia RS will be a rare sight on Indian roads. This limited availability makes it special for buyers who value performance and uniqueness.
Performance is the core of the RS. In a market full of SUVs, the Octavia RS offers a true driver’s experience, thanks to its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 265hp and DSG automatic transmission. It delivers fast acceleration, sharp handling, and driving excitement, while still being practical for everyday use.
