Renault India has a comprehensive strategy to strengthen its market position, focusing on new product launches, investments in the EV segment, and improving its manufacturing capabilities. The carmaker has confirmed the launch of the third-generation Duster SUV, a Duster-based three-row SUV, and an A-segment electric car, along with the introduction of the new-gen Kiger and Triber.
The third-generation Renault Duster will be the flagship product unveiled by the French automaker in 2025. Testing of the SUV is already underway, with heavily camouflaged test mules revealing some of its key details. Here, we answer the most frequently asked questions about the upcoming 2025 Renault Duster SUV.
The new Duster will showcase a more mature and evolved design language, heavily inspired by the Dacia Duster and Bigster SUVs. At the front, the SUV will feature sleeker LED headlamps with Y-shaped LED DRLs, a newly designed grille with chrome elements, larger air intakes at both ends, and fog lamps placed below them. A raised bonnet with sharp creases will further enhance its bold stance.
Design highlights such as dual-tone alloy wheels, squared-off wheel arches, roof rails, and body cladding will enhance its side profile. At the rear, the new Duster will sport V-shaped LED taillamps with a Y-shaped signature, an integrated roof spoiler, and a rear skid plate.
The interior and material quality of the new Duster will see significant upgrades compared to its previous generation. The SUV will have an entirely redesigned dashboard and AC vents with Y-shaped inserts. A 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system will take centre stage, likely supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
With the generational upgrade, the new Duster will also feature a fully digital 7-inch instrument cluster, a 6-speaker Arkamys 3D sound system, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, and ADAS technology. The ADAS suite will include advanced safety features such as lane change warning and assist, traffic sign recognition with speed alerts, automatic emergency braking, and detection systems for vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcycles.
In global markets, the 2025 Renault Duster is available with three engine options:
A 1.2L 3-cylinder turbo petrol with mild hybrid technology.
A 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo bi-fuel engine.
A 1.6L strong hybrid petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.2kWh battery pack.
The SUV comes equipped with 4x4 Terrain Control and offers five driving modes: Eco, Auto, Mud/Sand, Snow, and Off-road. While the specifications of the India-spec Duster are yet to be revealed, the SUV is likely to feature similar powertrain options. It will have approach and departure angles of 31° and 36°, respectively, with a ground clearance of 217mm. Transmission choices will include both manual and automatic units.
With its evolved design, upmarket interior, enhanced features (including ADAS), and efficient powertrains, the third-generation Duster is expected to be priced at a premium over its predecessor. The entry-level variant of the SUV is estimated to cost around ₹10 lakh, while the fully loaded top variant might be priced between ₹14.50 lakh and ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia trims down Carens to a single Premium (O) variant at Rs 11.41 lakh. Automatic options dropped, with premium features now exclusive to the Kia Clavis.
