The all-electric G-Class has been showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo, along with other Mercedes-Benz models and concepts. This model was launched on January 9, 2025, in India just a few days prior to the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
Here's everything you need to know about this all-electric G-Wagen.
The G 580 with EQ technology, as it is the first G-Wagen to get a full-electric powertrain. The car comes equipped with four electric motors with one for each wheel. The motors produce a power output combined of 578.97 bhp and an impressive 1,164 Nm. This boxy SUV can drive itself from a standstill to 100kmph in under 4.7 seconds. The quad-motor setup is linked to a 116kWh battery, which has a claimed WLTP range of 473 kilometers.
The dashboard of the Mercedes G 580 is straight up based on its ICE counterpart, although with a couple of EV-specific modifications in switches and settings. The feature list of the car includes a dual-screen setup with 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation, G-Steering, powered seats, ambient lighting, and more. Additionally for safety, the model has ADAS technology and a 360-degree camera that makes the driving more efficient.
The G 580 offers that donning classic boxy silhouette that is a classic design to the G-Class. This model is easily recognizable as a G-Wagen from any angle you view it from. The front grille is wrapped by a thin LED band, which gives it an attractive and charming look. The SUV sits on 18-inch alloy wheels, which come as standard.
