We have seen many new car launches along with the 2nd edition of Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in the past 2-3 months. In the first month of the next financial year, a wide range of new cars including EVs and ICE will be launched in the country. While Tata will have its Harrier.ev, MG will introduce two new EVs. Here we bring you a list of new cars and SUVs to be launched in the Indian market in the month of April 2025 -
The Korean automaker, Kia will introduce the new Carens facelift in the country in the month of April 2025. The 2025 Kia Carens facelift has been caught testing numerous times on the Indian roads. It will come with significant design changes and an upgraded interior along with new features. Interestingly, the existing model will be sold alongside the new Carens, which will have a new nameplate.
The MPV will have a completely new front fascia inspired by the Syros. In fact, the cabin layout will be shared with the Syros SUV and will be fitted with a larger touchscreen infotainment unit and a digital driver's display. The MPV will also get a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree surround view camera and LEVEL 2 ADAS. It is expected to be offered with the same set of engines including a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel.
Tata Motors is likely to announce the prices of the much-awaited Harrier EV in the month of April 2025. In fact, the production ready model was showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo and the recently held Tata.ev day. It looks similar to the ICE model; however, the SUV has some EV-specific design elements. The SUV gets new blanked-off grille, revised air dam and new skid plate.
In fact, the cabin layout and features will be shared with the ICE variant. It will get LEVEL 2 ADAS suite, panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree surround view camera, ventilated front seats, and others. The SUV will also get Summon mode and AWD system. It is likely to get a 75kWh battery pack with a claimed range of over 500km on a single charge.
MG Motor India will launch the Cyberster, a 2-door sports electric car in April 2025. It will be sold exclusively through the MG Select premium showrooms. The MG Cyberster will be the most affordable electric sports car in India and is expected to cost around Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom).
The MG Cyberster is packed with a 77kWh battery pack and dual electric motors for an AWD (all-wheel-drive) setup. The dual-motor setup offers 510bhp and 725Nm of peak torque. It is capable of achieving 0-100kmph in just 3.2 seconds. The new Cyberster is claimed to deliver a range of up to 580km on a full charge, CLTC cycle figure.
Another MG luxury EV, the M9 MPV will be introduced in the Indian market in April 2025. It will be the second MG model to be retailed through 'SELECT' outlets. This luxurious MPV will come as an electric alternative to the likes of the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire, which are offered with diesel and petrol-hybrid engines, respectively. It is expected to be packed with a 90kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 430km.
Volkswagen will introduce the new-gen Tiguan R-Line performance-oriented SUV in the Indian market on April 14, 2025. It will arrive in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) with bookings expected to open in the coming weeks. The new Tiguan R-Line is expected to be priced around Rs 50 lakh. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that offers two states of tunes - 201bhp/320Nm and 261bhp/400Nm. Both engines are paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. India will get the higher-spec 261bhp version.
Nissan is expected to launch the CNG version of the Magnite compact SUV in April 2025. It will be offered with the 1.0L naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a CNG kit to be fitted at a dealership level. The authorized Nissan dealers will provide a 1-year warranty for the CNG kit. The exact power and torque figures are yet to be revealed, but the fuel efficiency is expected to increase to 25 km/kg.
