Audi Q7 Set for Major Update; Debut This Month

Audi Q7 is set to enter its third generation. New design and triple-screen cabin expected. Global debut scheduled later this month.

Audi is preparing to unveil the next-generation Q7 later this month, marking one of the biggest updates for the luxury SUV since the current model first arrived nearly a decade ago. The upcoming Q7 has already been teased by the German carmaker, giving enthusiasts a glimpse of what to expect from the third-generation model.

The new Q7 will replace the ageing second-generation SUV that has been on sale globally since 2015 and has received multiple facelifts over the years.

First Teaser Reveals New Design Direction

Audi's teaser image offers an early look at the SUV's styling and confirms that the new Q7 will adopt the brand's latest design language.

The teaser shows part of the side profile, including an S-Line badge, camera-equipped ORVM and redesigned body panels. Previous spy shots suggest that the SUV will feature split LED headlamps, a larger front grille and a more aggressive bumper design.

At the rear, the next-generation Q7 is expected to get a connected LED light bar and a redesigned roof spoiler. Reports also indicate that the SUV could be slightly larger than the outgoing model.

Inspired by Audi's Latest SUVs

The new Q7 is expected to borrow styling cues from Audi's newest products, including the recently revealed Q3.

The overall look is likely to be sharper and more modern, helping the SUV stand out in an increasingly competitive luxury SUV segment. Audi is expected to focus on a cleaner design while retaining the Q7's familiar road presence and practicality.

Technology-Focused Cabin Expected

The cabin is expected to receive one of the biggest upgrades.

Reports suggest the next-generation Q7 could feature a triple-screen layout similar to the one expected on Audi's upcoming flagship Q9 SUV. The dashboard is likely to be redesigned with a stronger focus on digital technology and connectivity.

Premium features could include ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a heads-up display and a 360-degree camera system.

Audi is also expected to offer powered, ventilated and massaging seats, along with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) package.

Six-Seat and Seven-Seat Options Likely

The Q7 will continue to be offered as a three-row luxury SUV.

Reports indicate that Audi may offer both six-seat and seven-seat configurations. The six-seat version could come with captain seats in the second row, giving rear passengers a more premium experience.

This flexibility will help the Q7 continue appealing to buyers looking for both luxury and practicality.

New Platform and Electrified Engines

The next-generation Q7 is expected to be based on the Volkswagen Group's Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture.

The new platform supports advanced combustion and electrified powertrains, helping Audi meet stricter emission regulations across global markets.

International markets are expected to receive 48V mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engines, while plug-in hybrid versions are also likely to be part of the lineup.

Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system is expected to remain a standard feature on most variants.

No Longer Audi's Flagship SUV

One interesting change is that the Q7 will no longer be Audi's largest SUV.

That role will soon be taken over by the upcoming Audi Q9, which is expected to sit above the Q7 and compete with models such as the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS.

Even so, the Q7 will remain one of Audi's most important SUVs globally, offering a blend of luxury, technology and family-friendly practicality.

Global Reveal Just Around the Corner

Audi has confirmed that the all-new Q7 will be unveiled later this month. With a completely refreshed design, a technology-packed cabin and electrified powertrains, the next-generation Q7 is shaping up to be a significant step forward for the luxury SUV.
