Renault is planning to roll out multiple new cars in the Indian market. Among these is a mid-sized SUV, new 3-row SUV, and the all-new EV. While the third-gen Duster will arrive in mid 2025, the seven seater version could come by the end of 2025 or early 2026.
The new-gen Duster will arrive in the Indian market with stylish design and tech-loaded interior. The upcoming Renault model will be based on Renault-Nissan alliance's CMF-B platform which underpins several Renault cars in the international markets. Design-wise, it will be based on the Bigster concept which made its debut in 2021. Globally, the SUV gets both hybrid and mild hybrid engine choices, however, the India-spec model is expected to come with only petrol powertrains.
The automaker will also launch a 7-seater version of the Duster SUV which could be the production form of the global-spec Dacia Bigster. Except for the few design changes, the whole model will be similar to the latest Duster. Based on the CMF-B modular, it will be 4.6m long. . Expect to come equipped with 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, mated to manual and CVT automatic gearboxes. It will rival the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari.
Apart from the Duster and Bigster, Renault will roll out a new electric SUV in the market. It will be based on the CMF-B EV platform. Renault-Nissan alliance aims to achieve a higher level of localisation. Hence, the prices will be competitive. Besides, the electric SUV will feature the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery which can offer the range of over 300 km.
