Kia Motors has been testing its new compact SUV for a long time. It is likely to be called Kia Syros or Clavis. The brand had recently revealed the design sketches for the SUV which represents the Kia's evolved Design 2.0 philosophy. The teased images have also hinted that the new Syros will borrow design cues from EV9 flagship electric SUV. Therefore, we can expect the upcoming Kia car to have premium interior, innovative seating layout, and advanced tech features. Lets dig more!

From the new design perspective, the Syros will have a boxy shape with ruggsed-looking body cladding. Up front, it will carry uniquely designed headlamps with LED DRLs and aggressive bumper. Besides, it will highlight squared-off wheel arches, door mounted ORVMs, flat roof and functional roof rails.
The teased images have also revealed the half of the rear profile, which looks quite distinctive than the other Kia cars. The rear area will have a large glasshouse and stylish L-shaped LED tail lights. The compact SUV will also have a high ground clearance.
The new Syros will be based on the popular Kia car models, i.e., Sonet and Seltos. However, it will have a roomy interior and spacious boot as it will carry design cues and cabin layout from the luxurious EV9 and Carnival.
Some of its tech features might include a large 10.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment, a digital instrument cluster measuring 10.25-inch. ventilated front seats, a sunroof, automatic climate control, in-car connected features, ambient lighting system, and a lot more. The Syros will also get a 360-degree camera and ADAS tech.
Kia Syros is expected to come equipped with a 1.0-litre petrol engine. Paired to a 6-speed manual and a dual clutch automatic, this 3-cylinder unit is capable of pushing out 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque. Kia might also introduce a 1.5-litre diesel engine with both manual and torque converter automatic transmissions.
If this compact SUV gets an electric version, the brand might offer a battery pack of 40-45kWh, delivering the range of 400 km on a full charge.
