Mahindra To Auction First Thar Roxx For Charity, Bids Start At Rs 35 Lakh

Mahindra and Mahindra is going to auction the very first Thar Roxx SUV bearing vehicle identification number (VIN) 0001, with all proceeds going to charity. This exclusive auction presents a unique opportunity for SUV enthusiasts to own a piece of automotive history while supporting a noble cause.

Timings, Bidding Amount

The auction for the inaugural Thar Roxx will open for registration on September 12, 2024, at noon and will continue until September 16, 2024, at 6 pm (all timings IST). The bidding process, however, will start on September 15 at 5 pm and conclude on September 16 at 7 pm.

This one-off Thar Roxx will have a starting bid of Rs 35 lakh. Interested participants must register by completing an online form at www.carandbike.com/auction/thar-roxx and paying a refundable caution deposit of Rs 25,000. Upon losing, the deposit will be refunded and if the highest bidder fails to make the payment, the deposit will be forfeited.

Auctioning for the SUV will be conducted in real-time, with participants able to place unlimited bids in increments of Rs 25,000. The highest bidder by the close of the auction will be notified immediately and must finalise the payment of Rs 35 lakh by September 18, 2024.

Variant Details

The vehicle up for auction is the range-topping AX7L diesel trim, which comes with an automatic transmission and a 4x4 drivetrain. It can seat five and features modern safety equipment, including six airbags. Notably, the winning bidder will have the freedom to choose their preferred colour for the SUV. This exclusive Thar Roxx, adorned with a distinctive VIN plate marking it as number 0001, will be delivered in October, ahead of all other customer deliveries. Delivery details will be communicated to the winner once all registration and payment formalities are completed.

All proceeds from this auction will be directed to a charitable cause chosen by the winning bidder, subject to Mahindra & Mahindra’s approval. The charity selected must hold an 80G certificate to ensure the donation qualifies for tax exemption.
