Honda Elevate (WR-V) Secures 5-Star Safety Rating in Japan NCAP Crash Test

Honda Elevate, a made-in-India mid-size SUV, is sold as WR-V in the Japanese market. Interestingly, in a recent Japan New Car Assessment Programme (JNCAP) crash test, the Elevate (WR-V) has achieved a 5-star safety rating, marking a victory for Indian manufacturing.
 

Honda Elevate Scores 90 Percent Overall in JNCAP Crash Test
 

The Elevate recorded an overall score of 90 percent (176.23 out of 193.8 points) in the Japan NCAP 2024 crash test.
 

The SUV stood out with a 95 percent score in preventive safety performance (82.22 out of 85.8 points) and an 86 percent score in collision safety performance (86.01 out of 100 points).

The Elevate underwent a series of crash evaluations, including full frontal, front offset, and side collisions.

Full Frontal Collision Test:
 

• 96% protection for the driver
• 88% protection for rear passengers
   

Front Offset Collision Test:
 

• 86.9% for the driver
• 100% for the rear passenger
   

Side Collision Test:
 

• Full marks, highlighting excellent cabin integrity and side protection
   

Pedestrian Protection:
 

• 2.91/4 for head protection
• 4/4 for leg protection
   

In terms of occupant and pedestrian protection:
 

• Occupant Protection Score: 57.73 points

Not Tested by Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP Yet
 

Despite its strong showing in Japan, the Honda Elevate has not yet been tested by Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP. Given its impressive safety performance overseas, Indian consumers will be keen to see how the Elevate fares in domestic safety evaluations.
