Honda Preparing Nexon, Brezza Rival SUV - All Details

It was speculated that Honda will introduce the new-gen WR-V sub-4 metre SUV in the Indian market, but that didn't happen. For people not in the know, Honda had launched the new-gen WR-V compact SUV in Indonesia and select South Asian markets last year. It is reported that Honda is now developing a wide range of new cars and SUVs for the Indian market. 

The company is also preparing a new sub-4 metre SUV, which will be positioned below the Elevate. It was earlier planned to be manufactured on the low-cost Brio platform; however, media reports reveal that the new model will be based on an all-new modular platform. Honda is developing an all-new PF2 platform, which will be compatible with electric, hybrid and ICE powertrains.

A new 7-seater Honda SUV will be the first model to be based on the new PF2 platform. This compact SUV is scheduled to be launched in the country in 2027. Adding to it, the next-gen City and Honda's second Electric SUV will be based on the same platform. 

The new Honda compact SUV is expected to be launched sometime in 2028-29. It is likely to be offered with a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine with manual and CVT automatic gearbox options. Honda could also opt for a hybrid powertrain for the new compact SUV.  

The new compact SUV could also receive an electric derivative in the future. It is expected to be exported to select international markets as well. The small SUV will come with several modern tech and features including an advanced driver assistance system.
