Hyundai and Kia to Launch Three new 7-Seater SUVs in India

Hyundai to launch Palisade by 2028 New Kia Sorento 7-seater arriving in 2027 Hyundai developing a new 3-row SUV, codenamed Ni1i All three SUVs will come with strong hybrid powertrain

The Korean duo, Hyundai and Kia, is preparing to launch multiple new products in the Indian market. Both manufacturers will introduce 3 new 7-seater SUVs in the country in near future. While Hyundai will introduce two new 7-seater SUVs, Kia will launch the new 3-row Sorento SUV in 2027. In fact, testing of the new Kia Sorento has already been commenced in India.

Hyundai Palisade

Hyundai has confirmed that the Palisade full-sized SUV will be launched in India by 2028. This 3-row Boxy SUV will be positioned between the mass-market and luxury SUVs. It will be the brand’s flagship strong hybrid SUV. his three-row SUV measures 4980mm in length, 1975mm in width and 1750mm in height. The SUV has a long wheelbase of 2900mm, which translates into a spacious cabin to accommodate 7-8 passengers. With all-row rows in position, the 7-seater SUV offers a boot space of around 595-litres which can go up to 2464-litres by folding the rear seats.

The India-spec Hyundai Palisade is expected to feature Hyundai’s new-generation 2.5-litre turbo-petrol hybrid powertrain. It is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 14.1kmpl, and offers a 1015km of range on a full tank. It will come with six-speed automatic gearbox, intelligent AWD system with multiple terrain modes - Mud, Snow and Sand. Three drive modes - Eco, Sport and My Drive.

Hyundai Ni1i

Hyundai is developing an all-new SUV, codenamed Ni1i, which will be produced at the brand’s new Talegaon facility, on the outskirts of Pune. The new 7-seater SUV will directly rival the Mahindra XUV 7XO and the Tata Safari. It will be offered with a hybrid powertrain, and is expected to be based on Hyundai Tucson LWB model on sale in the Chinese market. It Is reportedly to be offered with a new 1.5L strong hybrid engine. We expect the new SUV could get a 1.6L petrol hybrid engine that powers the Tucson in international markets.

Kia Sorento

Sorento India

Kia is preparing the 7-seater version of the new-gen Sorento SUV for the Indian market. It is expected to be launched sometime in 2027. In fact, the body shell of the 7-seater Kia SUV was spotted being transported on a truck bed in India. The upcoming Kia Sorento will take on the likes of the upcoming 7-Seater Renault Bigster, Maruti Grand Vitara 7-seater and Toyota Hyrydyer 7-seater.

The India-spec model is likely to get a 1.5L strong hybrid powertrain, which will also power the Kia Seltos hybrid and the next-gen Hyundai Creta. In terms of proportions, the Kia Sorento is 4815mm long, 1900mm wide and 1700mm tall. The SUV rides on 2815mm long wheelbase.
