The 2022 introduced Jeep Avenger is being equipped with a fresh hybrid engine. The move is an important one as the car is gaining traction in most markets. It is also launching a new model of the Avenger called the "Avenger 4xe" that is powered by a mild-hybrid engine. The hybrid variant is a big step taken by Jeep to launch more green and efficient vehicles.
Jeep Avenger has been popular in different markets since its release, including Brazil. It was initially feared that it would compete with some of the other top-selling Jeep models, such as the Renegade, or even the Fiat Pulse. Recent rumors indicate, however, that the Avenger can indeed be manufactured in Brazil, as well as the Fiat Grande Panda. This would be enhancing the capability to reduce cost of production and enhance availability in the market for the model.
The Avenger has also been increasing in Europe and other regions, particularly for the sale of diversified variants, like the new 4xe hybrid. The model will provide an environmentally friendly option for customers who are ready to buy a hybrid-powered compact SUV.
The Jeep Avenger 4xe has a mild-hybrid system, with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine and two 28-horsepower electric motors. It features a 136-horsepower motor and a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The system allows the vehicle to offer improved fuel efficiency as well as the capability to travel in electric mode for some distance.
The Avenger 4xe's hybrid setup is the same as that of the Alfa Romeo Junior since they share technology. They do not mention the battery capacity, though they place it at an estimated 900 Wh gross capacity, which would be quite some electrical driving.
Jeep Avenger 4xe is available in three trim versions: Upland, Overland, and the limited "The North Face Edition." Each of them is stacked with their own menu of accessories and features for the consumer to choose from.
- Avenger 4xe Upland: The standard model receives roof bars, towbar, 17-inch black alloy wheels, full LED headlamps, washable cloth seats, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument display. It also receives safety assists like adaptive cruise control and hill descent control.
- Avenger 4xe Overland: The Overland trim adds other luxury touches like privacy glass, velour floor carpets, ambient lighting, and a full suite of driver assistance. It also features parking sensors and a wireless mobile phone charger.
- Avenger 4xe North Face Edition: This limited edition production car has special styling and an exclusive package featuring a tent, backpack, and water bottle. It also features 17-inch black alloy wheels with gold trim and additional comfort features such as heated front seats.
Jeep Avenger 4xe can perform on various types of terrain. It features an all-wheel-drive system along with several driving modes - Auto, Snow, Sand Mud, and Sport. These driving modes alter the capabilities of the car to offer the maximum traction on various terrains, such as slippery roads and road conditions having more bumps.
In Auto mode, the car uses the petrol engine and electric motors between 0 and 30 km/h in a 50:50 torque split to provide maximum traction. Above this speed, the rear motor kicks in as and when required. The Avenger 4xe does 0 to 194 km/h and 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 9.5 seconds.
The 4xe can also handle off-road terrain. It possesses a more elevated ground clearance and approach and departure angles than all the rest of the Avenger models, thus it will not have trouble climbing steep grades as well as rough roads. The vehicle will even drive on up to 40% slopes even in conditions where there is minimal traction.
