The Kia Carens MPV has crossed 2 lakh sales milestone within 36 months of its launch in the Indian market. It has been one of the fastest-selling people MPV in its category. The company is also developing the facelifted version of the MPV, which is scheduled to be launched by mid-2025. In fact, the 2025 Kia Carens facelift has already been caught testing on the Indian roads. An electric derivative of the MPV will also arrive in our market.
The top variants of the Kia Carens account for 24 percent of total sales. These models are equipped with advanced features such as sunroof, ventilated seats, multi-drive modes, Kia Connect and others. The petrol version accounts to 58% of total sales, while diesel variant contributed 42% of sales.
The company claims that 32% of customers opting for Automatic and iMT versions, while 28% buyers opted for sunroof-equipped variants. The 7-seater model accounts for 95% of the total Carens sales in India. Kia has also exported 24064 units of the Carens MPV to over 70 countries. The Carens is available in 3 engine options - a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel.
The updated Carens will receive design and interior changes. The cabin will receive maximum changes, as it will have new dashboard layout, bigger touchscreen infotainment and digital instrument console. The MPV is also expected to receive ventilated front and second-row seats, a panoramic sunroof and ADAS LEVEL 2.
