CarLelo has gained exclusive information that KIA Motors is all set to unveil the facelifted Sonet in India during the 1st week of December 2023. The new Kia Sonet will feature significant revisions to the front and rear end design along with an updated touchscreen infotainment system on the inside.
On the outside, the upcoming KIA Sonet facelift is expected to feature a larger grille similar to the one seen on the 2023 KIA Seltos. Additionally, the sub-compact SUV is also expected to come with redesigned LED headlights and connected LED tail lamps. Other notable changes on the outside include a new design of 16-inch alloy wheels, more muscular bumpers and front skid plates.
Moving inside, the 2023 KIA Sonet model is expected to come equipped with a larger touchscreen system featuring updated UI, revised HVAC controls with a single row of toggle buttons and an all-new colour scheme for the upholstery. Other notable additions could include a full-colour digital instrument cluster carried forward from the Hyundai Venue.
In terms of safety, the upcoming KIA Sonet is expected to come with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill-hold and more as standard. Like the KIA Seltos Facelift, the new Kia Sonet is also expected to come equipped with an ADAS 2.0 suite. The new autonomous safety technology is expected to offer the same functionality seen on the recently launched Hyundai Venue facelift.
In terms of powertrain options, we can expect the upcoming KIA cars model to continue with the same set of engine and gearbox options. These include the 1.2-litre petrol producing 83 bhp, the 1.0-litre TGDi turbo petrol unit that is rated for 120 bhp and a 1.5-litre diesel producing 116 bhp.
Transmission options on offer include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed AT and 7-speed DCT.
The new Honda 7-seater SUV will be based on a new platform, codenamed PF2, which is currently under development - launch expected in 2027.
