Kia Syros has been one of the most-awaited SUVs in the Indian market. Scheduled to make global debut on December 19, 2024, the new Kia SUV is expected to go on sale in the first quarter of 2025 (most probably at Bharat Mobility Show 2025). Interestingly, the Korean brand is preparing to introduce an electric derivative of the Syros SUV for the Indian market.
Kia Syros EV is expected to carry a different nameplate and will be the brand's smallest e-SUV in the country. It is likely to be launched by the end of 2025 or early 2026. Before Syros electric, Kia will introduce the electric derivative of the Carens MPV that has already been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads.

Details about the Syros EV are yet to be revealed, but it is expected to get same set of features available in the ICE model. The new model will have a panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver display, automatic climate control, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and others.
It is expected to be based on the same platform that underpins the Syros; however, the platform will be modified to accommodate an electric setup. It will continue to be a front-wheel-drive electric SUV; however, an AWD dual-motor setup could also be on offer. The new Syros will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV.
The electric Syros could share the electric motor and battery setup with the upcoming Carens EV. It could receive a 45kWh battery pack paired to a single electric motor. It is likely to offer a claimed range of up to 500km on a single charge.
