The India-launched new-generation Maruti Dzire has now witnessed its first price revision. The prices have increased by as much as Rs. 10,000, varying with the variant. This is a major revision since the car's launch, which began at Rs. 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
The highest price increase of Rs. 10,000 impacts the VXi AMT and ZXi AMT versions of the Dzire. These are now more expensive than previously. The other variants, such as the ZXi+ AMT, ZXi CNG MT, VXi CNG MT, VXi MT, and LXi MT, have experienced a consistent price rise of Rs. 5,000.
Interestingly, the price increase has spared the ZXi+ MT model. The prices of the newly launched Dzire now go from Rs. 6.84 lakh to Rs. 10.19 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Maruti Dzire rivals other sub-four-metre sedans such as the Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze. Despite the price hike, the Dzire maintains a competitive line of features and performance.
The Dzire is now sleeker and more contemporary than its last-gen equivalent. It also has the best safety features. In its recent crash test, the Dzire got a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP, and this makes it the first Maruti Suzuki vehicle to get such a rating.
The new Dzire is equipped with a new design. It has a broader front grille, LED crystal vision headlamps, and reworked fog lamp housings. The sedan also boasts a sharp shoulder line, an aero boot lip spoiler, a shark fin antenna, and new 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The tail lamps have also been reworked for a contemporary look.
Internally, the Dzire is equipped with a large cabin having a dual-tone interior. It features a fresh 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, wireless charger, and electric sunroof. Features also include auto AC, cruise control, and rear AC vents. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with Suzuki Connect.
The Dzire has a fuel-saving 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine. The engine produces 80 bhp power and 112 Nm torque. Transmission is through a 5-speed manual transmission (MT) and automatic (AMT). The Dzire is rated as India's most fuel-efficient sedan.
The 1.2-litre petrol (MT) has an efficiency of 24.79 kmpl. The 1.2-litre petrol (AMT) gives a far better fuel economy at 25.71 kmpl. On the 1.2-litre Petrol + CNG variant, Dzire manages to provide as much as 33.72 km/kg (ARAI certified) mileage.
