Maruti Suzuki has launched the new generation Dzire fleet edition model in a special avatar for fleet operators. The manufacturer launched the new commercial model as the Dzire Tour S with a tag price of Rs. 6.79 lakh for the standard petrol model and Rs. 7.74 lakh for the CNG model. All prices are ex-showroom.
Maruti Dzire was updated with the new generation in November. Its corporate cousin, the Dzire Tour S, has also been revised with the same feature list. It is based on the LXi version of the regular Dzire, which is the entry-level trim of the volume model retailed to private customers. That translates to the Dzire Tour S being sold with fewer items of equipment, with an emphasis on pricing and maintaining functionality affordable for fleet operators.
The outside of the Dzire Tour S is simple and unremarkable. It features a big grille, halogen front lights, and Suzuki emblem positioned in the center of the front face upfront. The only color offered in the Dzire Tour S is Arctic White, and it makes the vehicle appear dull business-like. Black outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs) and black door handles are the side appearance of Dzire Tour S. It also receives a body-colored shark fin antenna.
It also receives 14-inch steel wheels, bare and not hidden under wheel covers. On the rear, the Dzire Tour S comes with LED brake lights and tail lamps. A black stripe runs between the tail lamp housings, and atop them the Suzuki badge is fitted. 'Tour S' is written at the bottom left of the bootlid.
Inside, the Tour S Dzire gets a straightforward but functional interior. The cabin gets a two-tone black and beige color scheme. The car gets manual air conditioning, and the devices are not that complex and not much to bother with. It, however, does not get an infotainment system, as in models with higher specification.
The center console also features a manual gear shift and two plain and functional cup holders. Keyless entry, power windows for all four windows, and adjustable headrests in the front are also included in the car. All these add to comfort in the car for passengers and drivers whether in a base model.
Maruti has made sure that the Dzire Tour S features basic safety features. The car is fitted with six airbags, which are enough to cushion one in case of an accident. It also has hill-hold assist, where it becomes impossible for the car to roll back uphill when driving uphill. Electronic stability control (ESC) is also among the features, which give the car stability as it makes the car make sharp turns. Apart from that, the vehicle is equipped with reverse parking sensors, which instruct the driver on safer parking.
The Dzire Tour S has two engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol engine with an 80.87 bhp power and 112 Nm torque, and a 1.2-litre petrol+CNG engine with 69.04 bhp power and 102 Nm torque. Both the engines are equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission for easy gear changing and fuel efficiency. The petrol engine is ideal for those customers who need more power, whereas the CNG variant is an economical and eco-friendly option for fleet operators.
Dzire Tour S is available at a price of Rs. 6.79 lakh for the entry petrol variant and Rs. 7.74 lakh for the CNG variant. Prices are ex-showroom, thus making it cheap for fleet owners who want to use it for ferrying commuters.
