The much-anticipated Maruti Suzuki Victoris (Escudo) SUV will finally go on sale in next couple of weeks, that’s on September 3, 2025. It will be the second Maruti Suzuki model to be manufactured at Suzuki’s new Kharkhoda based manufacturing facility in Haryana. The company has already started producing the Brezza compact SUV at this production facility.

The new Escudo will be Maruti’s flagship SUV from ARENA dealership network, which currently has more than 3000 dealers across India. In terms of positioning, Maruti Suzuki is likely to slot the new SUV between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara.
The new Escudo will be one of the most feature loaded Maruti Suzuki cars in India. It will come with several first time features on any of the Maruti car on sale in India. Also See - Maruti Escudo Top 10 Highlights

The new Maruti Suzuki Escudo is most likely to be the first Maruti model to feature LEVEL 2 ADAS tech in India. It will come with features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, blind spot monitoring and others. Other safety features will include six airbags, ESP, traction control, TPMS, 360-degree surround view camera and others. It is reported that the new Maruti Escudo will come with powered tailgate, which will give it a competitive edge. Moreover, the midsize SUV will offer an immersive sound experience. The SUV will get a premium audio system with DOLBY ATMOS tech, which is generally offered with premium and luxury models.
Another big update is that the Escudo could receive an underbody CNG tank, which free space in the boot. The new model is reportedly to be longer than the Grand Vitara and is expected to offer more space inside the cabin.
The new Maruti Victoris (Escudo) will share the powertrain options with the Grand Vitara, which includes a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L hybrid and a CNG. The hybrid version gets Toyota’s 1.5L, 3-cylinder, 12-valve, DOHC with strong hybrid tech. Paired to an e-CVT, the powertrain offers a combined power and torque output of 116hp and 141Nm, respectively.
It will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a mild-hybrid tech, paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. This engine is capable of producing 102bhp and 138Nm of torque. The automatic version will also come with an AWD drivetrain. In the CNG mode, the powertrain produces 87bhp and 121.5Nm of torque.
