Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the facelift of its popular model, Fronx, which is scheduled for the Indian market by 2025. The model will not only have a fresh new look but will also come with an all-new hybrid engine that promises impressive fuel efficiencies over 35kmpl.
The Fronx facelift will come with Maruti's hybrid engine, internally known as HEV. It will be less expensive to produce compared to traditional hybrids and power a range of models, including the next-gen Brezza, Swift Hybrid, and New-gen Baleno. The hybrid system will feature a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Z12E engine mated to a smaller 1.5-2 kWh battery pack and one electric motor. The engine will be a generator and help charge the battery even on the move in this setup.
The facelifted version of the Fronx will be one of the first Maruti cars to carry an Advanced Driver Assistance System, or what is popularly known as ADAS. Though it may not offer Level 2 ADAS, it will provide at least a Level 1 ADAS package, the most primitive of safety features but essential nonetheless. This set of features will include Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning, thus substantially improving overall driver safety.
The Fronx will try to effectively compete with this growing hybrid market in India with the new hybrid engine it is introducing and the integration of safety technologies. The introduction of the Fronx will draw the attention of environmentally conscious buyers looking for an economical yet fuel-efficient vehicle.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift appears to be a highly promising proposition for the Indian auto market, as it claims to offer affordability with great mileage and advanced technology.
