Maruti Suzuki’s latest offering, the Victoris, has earned 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests. This makes the new Victoris the second Maruti Suzuki model to earn such a distinction, following the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which was awarded a 5-star rating last year. With this achievement, the Victoris positioned as one of the safest compact SUVs in India.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris has shown great safety performance, earning five stars for both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) in the Global NCAP crash tests. This result reflects Maruti Suzuki’s dedication to improving safety standards, especially in the growing compact SUV market in India.

The Victoris was tested under the new, stricter Global NCAP rules, and it passed with excellent scores. It received a top AOP score of 33.72 out of 34 and a COP score of 41 out of 49. These scores place the Victoris among the safest Maruti cars, giving confidence to both adult and child passengers.

During the frontal crash test, the Victoris provided great protection for the driver, with good ratings for the head, neck, pelvis, thighs, and lower legs. The co-driver’s side also performed well, with all body areas receiving strong protection.

In side-impact tests, the Victoris did even better, showing solid protection for all parts of the driver’s body. In the side pole impact test, all parts of the driver’s body were well protected, further proving the car’s excellent safety structure.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris comes with a range of safety features that helped it achieve such a high safety rating. Standard safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all passengers. It also has ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, traction control, and overspeed alerts.
In higher variants, the Victoris offers Level 2 ADAS features, such as lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera, making it one of the safest compact SUVs in India.
The Victoris has also done well in child safety tests. In the dynamic test, the car scored a perfect 24 out of 24 when using child restraint systems. Both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies were well protected in their rearward-facing child seats with ISOFIX anchorages and a support leg.
With a 5-star GNCAP rating and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, the Victoris is now one of the safest compact SUVs in India. It offers excellent protection for both adults and children, thanks to its strong build and a wide range of safety features. The Victoris is setting new safety standards in the Indian automotive market.
