Mercedes CLA EV priced between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 64 lakh AMG Line offers 792km of range Over 400 bookings in less than 2 months
The much-awaited Mercedes-Benz CLA EV has finally been launched in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 55 lakh, ex-showroom. This will be the brand’s new entry-level electric vehicle in India, and comes as a replacement for the A-Class Limousine, EQA and EQB. Mercedes claims that the new CLA electric has already received over 400 bookings in less than 2 months.
The CLA EV is available in 3 variants - Progressive Line, AMG Line and Launch Edition - priced at Rs 55 lakh, 59 lakh and Rs 64 lakh, respectively, ex-showroom.
This special Launch Edition is priced at Rs 64 lakh, ex-showroom. It is finished in a matte black paint, and rides on larger 19-inch alloy wheels. The sedan comes fitted with Mercedes’s Superscreen display on the inside. Other additions include illuminated door sills, and edition-specific leather upholstery, ambient lighting and trim materials.

The CLA 200 Standard Range is packed with a 58kWh battery pack, and is claimed to offer a WLTP-claimed range of up to 542km on a single charge. It comes with a rear-mounted electric motor rated at 224hp and offers a 335Nm of torque. The electric sedan accelerates to 100kmph from zero in 7.5 seconds.
The higher-spec 250+ Long Range variant is packed with an 85kWh NMC battery and a rear-axle-mounted electric motor, which offers 272hp and 335Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 6.7 seconds. The electric sedan has a WLTP claimed range of up to 792km. The sedan comes with a two-speed gearbox.
The CLA EV supports up to 320kW charging, and is based on an 880V electric architecture. The battery can offer up to 300km of range in just 10 minutes of charging.
Dimensionally, the CLA EV is 4723mm long, 1855mm wide and 1468mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2790mm. The sedan has a boot space of 405-litres and a front frunk of 101-litres of capacity. It is 30mm longer, 25mm wider and 25mm taller than the previous model. The EV is claimed to have a low drag coefficient of 0.21.
In terms of features, the sedan gets wireless phone charging, six 100W USB-C fast charging ports, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 16-speaker Burmester sound system, 360-degree surround view camera, auto park assist, LEVEL 2+ ADAS tech, ambient lighting, powered, heated and massaging front seats, and others.
