MG Motor India is ready to launch its new electric car, Comet EV in the Indian market. Ahead of its launch, the company has released a teaser image featuring the interior details for the upcoming electric vehicle. Let us get into more details and see what this car will have to offer:
According to the teaser image, the MG Comet EV will highlight a two-spoke steering wheel. It will also have two sets of controls on either side. This design will complement the minimalist interior theme of the car. There are also round and multi-function buttons on the steering wheel, inspired by the Apple iPod. These buttons will enable the user to control audio, voice commands for the infotainment system, navigation, and more.
Besides, there is a dual-screen setup behind the steering wheel that houses two 10.25-inch screens. Two horizontally positioned AC vents are also placed below the screen.
While the company has not revealed more details regarding the equipment list, the Comet EV is likely to come equipped with features like electric parking brake, keyless entry & go, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, drive modes, among others.
The Comet will be powered by a 20kWh battery pack. This battery pack will be locally sourced from Tata AutoComp. According to media reports, the car will offer a range of up to 250 kms on a single full charge. It is also expected that the electric vehicle will be powered by a single, rear axle-mounted motor which will generate a power output of around 45 bhp.
MG Motor India is expected to price its entry-level EV in the range of Rs 10 to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). The final pricing will be announced after the vehicle is officially introduced into the market. Stay tuned to get more updates on this upcoming electric vehicle from the brand.
