Mini Cooper SE will be launched on the 24th of February in India
The premium electric vehicle segment will see the launch of Mini Cooper SE on the 24th of February 2022. Currently limited to 30 units, bookings for the Cooper SE were opened a couple of months prior to the price announcement. As per Mini India all of these units have already been sold and deliveries of the vehicle are expected to begin from April this year.
Based on the Mini Cooper 3-door hatchback, the Cooper SE features traditional design elements like round LED headlights, Union Jack-themed LED tail lamps and the quirky silhouette. 15mm higher than the normal Mini Cooper, the electric version provides upgraded exterior design in the form of a blanked-out front grille consisting of a new ‘E’ badge, redesigned front and rear bumpers. On the sides, there are yellow accents that can be found on the outside part of the door mirror caps. In addition to this, there will be a distinctive alloy wheel design on offer. As for colour options, it will be provided in Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey, White Silver and British Racing Green.
Moving to the interior, then expect its cabin to be almost similar to the Mini Cooper. That said, the Mini Cooper SE will provide a new digital instrument cluster and a new toggle switch placed on the centre console meant for multi-level brake-regeneration system. Like its exterior, yellow accents will make their way into the interior as well. Other features on board Mini SE will include a combination of cloth & leatherette upholstery in black, panoramic sunroof, a Nappa leather steering wheel, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Harman Kardon sound system, tyre pressure monitoring system and more.
Under the skin, the 2022 Mini Cooper SE will come equipped with an electric motor and 32.6kWh battery pack. Both of them would provide a combined performance of 184 bhp with 270 Nm of peak torque. It would offer four driving modes namely, Mid, Sport, Green & Green+ and Powertrain. As for the electric range, the four-wheel would be able to cover 235 – 270 kms on a single charge. According to Mini, via a fast charger the car can be recharged from 0 – 80 percent in just 35 minutes while an 11kW wall box would take 2 and hours to recharge the vehicle from 0 – 80 percent. For a full charge, it would take 3 hours 30 minutes.
