New Nissan Tekton Finally Shows Its Face

Nissan Tekton will debut globally on July 9. The latest teaser reveals its front-end design. It will take on Creta, Seltos and Grand Vitara.

Nissan has released the clearest teaser yet of its upcoming Tekton SUV, revealing its front-end design ahead of the global debut on July 9 in Mumbai. Earlier teasers showed the SUV's silhouette and introduced it as the "Baby Patrol." Now, the latest image gives a much better look at the styling that will define Nissan's new midsize SUV.

The Tekton is expected to become one of Nissan's most important launches in India as it enters the highly competitive midsize SUV segment.

Patrol-Inspired Front Design

The latest teaser shows the Tekton in black with a bold and upright front fascia inspired by the larger Nissan Patrol. It features a wide grille with multiple horizontal slats, giving the SUV a strong road presence.

A red accent strip runs across the grille and passes through the illuminated Nissan logo, creating a unique front-end design. Another highlight is the large TEKTON lettering placed across the front edge of the bonnet.

The bonnet also gets a raised centre section, while vertical LED daytime running lights are positioned at the outer edges of the bumper. Together with the rectangular LED headlamps, these elements give the SUV a rugged and premium look.

Boxy SUV Styling

Previous teasers and spy shots have already revealed several other design details. The Tekton is expected to feature a flat roofline, chunky wheel arches, roof rails and connected LED tail-lamps.

Its boxy proportions and upright stance are expected to help it stand out from other midsize SUVs while reinforcing its "Baby Patrol" identity.

Feature-Rich Cabin Expected

The Nissan Tekton is expected to share its platform with the new Renault Duster but will get its own styling inside and out.

The cabin is likely to feature dual digital displays, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, connected car technology and a 360-degree camera.

Higher variants are also expected to offer Level 2 ADAS, along with six airbags and electronic stability control.

Turbo Petrol Engines Likely

Under the hood, the Tekton is expected to use the same turbo-petrol engines as the new Renault Duster.

The lineup could start with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 100 PS and 160 Nm. Higher variants are expected to get a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine generating 163 PS and 280 Nm, paired with manual and DCT automatic gearbox options.

A strong hybrid version is also expected to join the lineup at a later stage.
