After introducing the new Triber, Renault India has now re-launched the Kiger SUV with significant upgrades. The company has also confirmed that its smallest car, the Kwid will also receive upgrades in near future. The big news is that Renault confirms that the price announcement for the new-gen Duster will take place in coming months.
We reported earlier that the production of the third generation Duster SUV will begin from September 2025. It will be produced at Renault’s Chennai based production facility. The company recently acquired the 51% stakes from Nissan India and took full control of the production facility.
It is expected that the new-gen Renault Duster for India could be revealed during festive season, around October-November 2025. The price announcement is likely in the end of this year with deliveries expected to begin in January 2026.
Few days back, Francisco Hidalgo, VP (Sales & Marketing) Renault India told media that the Duster enjoys huge popularity among customers. The SUV is reportedly creating immense buzz among customers. Few excited customers have already made advanced payments to Renault dealers to be among the first to own the new Duster.
The new-gen Renault Duster will return in petrol avatar only. However, a hybrid version is also under development which is likely to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027. The SUV is expected to be powered by a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 151bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices likely to include a 6-speed manual and a dual-clutch automatic. The lower-spec model could either receive a 1.5L NA petrol or a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine.
The new-gen Renault Duster is designed and developed on the brand’ new CMF-B modular platform, which will also underpin a new 7-seater Boreal and Nissan’s C-segment SUV. The SUV will come with modern interiors and several comfort and convenience features.
Some of the key features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital driver’s display, powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control and others. The new Duster will also receive LEVEL 2 ADAS tech, a 360-degree surround view camera, 6 airbags, ESP, traction control, hill launch and descent control, etc.
Renault is looking at higher level of localisation to achieve competitive pricing for the third-gen Duster SUV. We expect the new Renault Duster to price somewhere between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 17 lakh, ex-showroom. The SUV will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and others in the mid-sized SUV category.
