New Skoda Kodiaq RS - Key Details Out

New Skoda Kodiaq RS coming soon to India. Gets a 265 hp turbo-petrol engine with AWD. Sportier design and premium RS-specific cabin.

Skoda is gearing up to launch the Kodiaq RS in India, bringing the iconic RS badge to an SUV for the first time in the country. The performance-oriented version of the Kodiaq will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU) and is expected to arrive in limited numbers.

Here's a look at the key details of the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq RS.

More Powerful 2.0-Litre Turbo Engine

The biggest upgrade comes under the hood. The Kodiaq RS is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 265 hp and 400 Nm of torque. This is 60 hp and 80 Nm more than the standard Kodiaq sold in India.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

Sportier Exterior Design

The Kodiaq RS gets several cosmetic upgrades over the regular model. It features sportier front and rear bumpers, 20-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and multiple gloss-black exterior elements that give it a more aggressive look.

Premium Cabin With RS Touches

Inside, the SUV gets a sporty makeover while retaining the familiar Kodiaq layout.

The cabin comes with an all-black theme, red contrast stitching, and sports seats with integrated RS branding. It is also expected to offer a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver's display, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, and other premium features.

Performance-Focused Upgrades

Apart from the more powerful engine, the Kodiaq RS also gets upgraded braking hardware.

The SUV features slotted front brake discs and two-piston front brake calipers for improved stopping performance. Internationally, it is also available with adaptive suspension, although it remains to be seen if this feature will be offered in India.

Expected Price and Availability

The Skoda Kodiaq RS will be brought to India as a full import, making it more expensive than the regular model.

It is expected to be priced between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom). Skoda will initially bring only a limited number of units, with more allocations possible depending on customer demand.
