It was speculated that the new-gen Renault Duster will be launched in 2025; however, media reports claim that the launch has been pushed to early 2026. Interestingly, a new media report suggest that the Duster brand name will finally make its re-entry in our market this year. Following the Nissan-Honda merger, there was some confusion around whether the new-gen Renault Duster will launch this year.
A new Acko Drive video reveals that the new-gen Renault Duster is definitely launching in India in 2025. It further stated that the global chaos around the Nissan-Honda merger has no impact on Renault-Nissan plans in India. The four cars promised on this new architecture will be introduced in our market as per the original plans.
The third-generation Renault Duster is based on a new Renault-Nissan alliance's CMF-B modular platform, which will also underpin a new 7-seater SUV. Adding to it, Nissan will also launch their own versions of these two SUVs in the country. In fact, Nissan India has released a teaser of its upcoming 5-seater mid-sized SUV.
Renault will heavily localize the new CMF-B modular platform for Indian market. This low-cost version of the platform will help Renault and Nissan to achieve competitive pricing. In fact, Renault India has started testing the new-gen Duster on the Indian roads. The spotted model appears closer to production-spec and looks similar to the global model, featuring rugged stance along with high ground clearance.
The third-gen Duster is 4.34 meters long, which makes it slightly longer than the previous model. However, the wheelbase has been reduced to 2657mm. The new Renault Duster retains the original profile of the first-gen Duster; however, it has more modern design elements. It gets slim Y-shaped LED DRLs, a rugged bumper with vertical air vents, and integrated circular fog lamps, new 18-inch alloys, Y-shaped tail-lamps and a tweaked bumper.
