Renault Kiger facelift launching on Aug 24 It will get cosmetic design and interior changes Six airbags will come as standard It could miss out on sunroof
The much-awaited Renault Kiger facelift will finally go on sale in the country on August 24, 2025. Renault has recently launched the Triber facelift with significant design and interior changes along with new features, better safety and color options. The same is expected with the new Kiger facelift.
The refreshed Kiger has already been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. Going by the spy images, clearly the new Kiger will receive subtle design updates, a more premium cabin and a longer list of comfort and safety features.
Renault believes that a refreshed Kiger will help improve its market footing. The company attributes the SUV’s initial sales struggle to its launch timing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Renault Kiger facelift will come with an updated front fascia with sharper styling cues inspired by Renault’s global models, including the Kardian and Duster.
The spy images suggest that the new Kiger will come with a completely new bumper that houses a larger central air intake and LED fog lamps. It will have a revised front grille that incorporates the new 2D Renault logo and new split LED headlamp setup and new LED daytime running lamps.
The Kiger facelift is expected to receive new alloy wheels, prominent cladding around wheel arches and a shark fin antenna. The rear is expected to receive new LED tail-lights and a new lower bumper with thick cladding and a silver skid plate.
The cabin is also likely to receive substantial changes in the form of new colour scheme and upholstery. It is expected to receive an updated dashboard with a new floating 8-inch touchscreen display for infotainment and a 7-inch digital driver’s display. Other features could include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an automatic AC, wireless phone charger, powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, etc.
The spy images reveal that the Kiger will miss out on a sunroof; however, Renault India could add sunroof feature as an optional. The Kiger facelift will receive six airbags as standard, ESP, hill start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, traction control system, and a rear parking camera with sensors. The SUV could get rain sensing wipers and front parking sensors.
The new Renault Kiger facelift will be offered with two powertrain choices - a 72hp, 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a 100hp, 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual as standard, a 5-speed AMT with naturally-aspirated unit, and a CVT with 1.0L turbo unit.
The Kiger facelift is likely to receive a price hike of around 25,000 to 50,000. We expect the new compact SUV to cost somewhere around Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 11.5 lakh. The new SUV will take on the likes of the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Fronx and others in the sub-4 meter category.
