Buoyed by positive response for Kylaq, Skoda Auto India is preparing to give mid-life update to its two popular mid-sized cars, including the Kushaq and the Slavia. The Skoda Kushaq facelift has already been spotted testing on the Indian roads.
For people not in the know, Skoda had launched the Kushaq mid-sized SUV in 2021. It is expected that the Kushaq facelift will arrive in our market sometime in late 2025 or in the first quarter of 2026.
The Kushaq facelift will receive a significantly revised front fascia. It will have a tweaked grille with a slimmer vertical slats. The SUV could receive a new connected daytime running lights above the grille, which we have already seen on the new-gen Skoda Kodiaq. It will have slightly revised headlights and a newly styled fog lamp units. The revised lower bumper houses a squarish and prominent air-dam.
The side profile appears largely identical to the existing Kushaq, but it will have newly designed blacked-out alloy wheels. The rear profile gets slimmer tail-lamps connected by an LED strip. It could get a tweaked tailgate and a revised lower bumper.
The cabin details are yet to be revealed, but we expect the Kushaq facelift to receive multiple changes. It is likely to get a new interior scheme, new seat upholstery and several new features. We expect the SUV could get a new infotainment screen with improved user interface and a digital driver’s display.
The upcoming Skoda Kushaq facelift is likely to be equipped with LEVEL 2 ADAS suite, which is missing in the current car. ADAS features include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, auto high beam, lane assist and others.
The 2026 Skoda Kushaq facelift won’t receive any mechanical changes. The engine choices will remain the same, a 115hp, 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 150hp, 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo petrol. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic with the 1.0L unit, and a 7-speed DSG for the 1.5L motor.
Skoda will replace the 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with a new 8-speed unit. However, the facelift will initially be offered with the 6-speed unit and the new 8-speed unit will come as a later stage.
