Skoda Kodiaq Facelift – New Details Out

Skoda Kodiaq facelift has entered the testing phase. Updated styling and feature upgrades are expected. India-spec model is likely to continue with the 2.0L turbo-petrol engine.

The second-generation Skoda Kodiaq was launched only recently, but the company has already started working on its first mid-life update. The facelifted SUV has now been spotted testing in Europe, giving a glimpse of the design changes expected on the premium three-row SUV.

Although the test vehicle is heavily covered, several updates can already be seen.

Exterior to Get a Fresh Look

The latest spy images suggest that the Kodiaq facelift will receive revised split LED headlamps with a new daytime running light signature. The front grille is also expected to get a new design, while the bumper has been slightly redesigned.

At the rear, the SUV is likely to feature updated LED tail lamps and a revised bumper. Skoda may also introduce new alloy wheel designs and additional exterior colour options as part of the facelift.

Small Changes Inside the Cabin

The overall dashboard layout is expected to remain the same. The SUV will continue with a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster.

However, Skoda is likely to update the infotainment software with new graphics and improved functions. Minor changes to the steering wheel and centre console could also be introduced.

Engine Options Expected to Stay the Same

The facelift is not expected to bring major mechanical changes. Globally, the Kodiaq is offered with petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains, and these are likely to continue with minor updates for better efficiency.

In India, the SUV is expected to retain the familiar 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that develops 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The engine will continue to be paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system.

India Launch Will Take Time

The second-generation Kodiaq has only recently gone on sale in India, which means the facelift is still some time away from reaching the local market. For now, the latest spy shots confirm that Skoda has already begun testing the updated SUV. While the changes appear to be evolutionary rather than dramatic, the facelift is expected to give the Kodiaq a fresher look along with a few feature and software upgrades before its global debut.
