Skoda Kodiaq RS Demand Surges; First 50 Units Booked

Skoda Kodiaq RS sold out in just 6 minutes. The first batch was limited to 50 units. The 265 hp performance SUV launches soon.

The new Skoda Kodiaq RS has received a strong response from buyers in India. The first batch of the performance SUV, limited to just 50 units, was fully booked within six minutes after bookings opened.

Customers could reserve the SUV by paying a token amount of Rs. 3 lakh. Skoda is expected to announce the prices soon, with the official launch likely in the coming weeks.

Strong Response for Skoda's Performance SUV

The Kodiaq RS will be the flagship version of the Kodiaq lineup in India. It will be positioned above the Laurin & Klement variant and is aimed at buyers looking for a premium SUV with sporty performance.

This is not the first time an RS model has seen such demand. Earlier this year, the Octavia RS also sold out quickly after bookings opened, showing the popularity of Skoda's performance models in India.

265 hp Engine With AWD

Powering the Kodiaq RS is a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 265 hp and 400 Nm of torque.

The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and sends power to all four wheels through a standard AWD system.

The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 231 km/h.

It also gets Progressive Steering, Dynamic Chassis Control Plus and multiple drive modes for a more engaging driving experience.

Sporty Design With Premium Cabin

The Kodiaq RS stands out with several sporty design elements. It gets RS-specific front and rear bumpers, gloss black exterior accents, black roof rails, black window surrounds, a rear spoiler and RS badges.

Other highlights include LED Matrix headlamps, a light strip across the front grille, dynamic LED tail lamps and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the SUV gets black leather seats with red stitching, aluminium pedals, illuminated scuff plates and a three-spoke leather steering wheel with paddle shifters.

Long Feature List

The Kodiaq RS comes with a long list of premium features. It gets a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 725 W Canton sound system with 13 speakers and a subwoofer, three-zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof.

Safety features include nine airbags, a 360-degree camera and a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

More Units Expected

With the first batch already sold out, Skoda is expected to bring more units of the Kodiaq RS to India in the coming months. The quick sell-out even before the price announcement shows that there is strong demand for performance-focused premium SUVs in the Indian market.
