Toyota Hands Over Customized Hilux Units for Wildlife Protection This comes under Toyota’s CER initiative
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced the handing over of two specially equipped, camouflage Toyota Hilux vehicles to the Bengaluru South District, Ramanagara Division, under its Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) initiative.
The specialised Toyota Hilux pick-ups are equipped with essential forest fire mitigation tools, including blowers and stretchers. These tools will enable the Emergency Response Team (ERT) to respond faster and more effectively to human-wildlife conflict situations, wildlife rescues, and forest fire incidents.
The rugged capability and reliability of the Toyota Hilux will significantly enhance last-mile connectivity in dense forest zones. The vehicles will be utilized to support critical functions such as patrolling forest zones, biodiversity conservation activities, wildlife protection, and rapid response during emergencies.
The vehicles were formally handed over at Kanakapura, in the presence of Shri. D. K. Shivakumar Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka, officials from the Forest Department & senior leadership from TKM.
Appreciating TKM's efforts, Shri. D. K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister, Govt of Karnataka said “We sincerely appreciate Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s continued support. These vehicles will play a crucial role in improving our response time during emergencies, especially in difficult terrains. This intervention will directly strengthen on-ground conservation efforts.”
