The Tata Sierra will hit the market by the end of 2025 in the country. The ex-showroom electric version is expected to start from Rs. 25 lakh. It's going to be available in both electric as well as petrol engine options. Prices could vary depending on the variant and type of engine.
Just like in the Tata Punch EV and Curvv EV, the Sierra EV will be designed on the Acti.ev platform. Options with a dual-motor setup for an all-wheel drive will come with this model. Its single charge will allow it to cover more than 500 km. Battery options are likely to range from 60 kWh to 80 kWh.
The petrol variant of the Sierra is expected to be powered by a new 1.5-litre, turbocharged petrol engine, with a power of 167.67 bhp and a torque of 280 Nm. The offering is to be accompanied by Tata's 6-speed automatic gearbox. The ICE Sierra is on ATLAS. It is a platform for vehicles whose lengths lie between 3.9 meters and 4.6 meters.
Sierra EV will look really stylish. It will have LED light bars, full LED headlamps, as well as big alloy wheels. Blacked-out C-pillars will be visible for this SUV. Glossy roof rail will also grace the car. On the inside, it will feature a big panoramic sunroof. For added convenience, the cabin will be featured with a fully digital instrument cluster as well as an infotainment screen. A floating center console as well as wireless charging will be provided as well. The SUV will have several seating configurations. Both five-seat and four-seat lounge variants of the SUV will be available.
The Sierra EV will have all safety features. It will be provided with six airbags and electronic stability control or ESC. Tata Motors will also add an Advanced Driver Assistance System or ADAS. All these will be included in making a safer automobile and drive.
Currently, there are no direct rivals to the Tata Sierra EV. But soon enough, electric SUVs will be seen from Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, and Honda brands that would compete very shortly. And this time when it happens, the Sierra will face the rivalry.
