Bharat NCAP has announced the crash test results of the Tata Sierra, and the SUV has scored a full 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection. This rating applies to all Sierra models manufactured from March 2026.

The 2026 Tata Sierra scored 31.14 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection, earning a solid 5-star rating.
In simple terms, the SUV offers very good protection for passengers. The crash test showed good to adequate protection for the chest, knees, and legs, while the feet area got a ‘good’ rating.
The Sierra performed well across all tests, including frontal impact, side impact, and pole impact, showing strong safety for both driver and co-passenger.
In Child Occupant Protection, the Sierra scored 44.73 out of 49 points, again securing a 5-star rating.
It performed very well in dynamic crash tests and got a perfect score in child seat installation tests. This means child seats can be fitted properly and securely.
The SUV also showed strong protection for child dummies, including 18-month-old and 3-year-old occupants.
The high safety rating is backed by a long list of features. The Tata Sierra comes with 7 airbags, electronic stability control, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, hill hold assist, and front and rear parking sensors.
These features help in both preventing accidents and protecting passengers if a crash happens.
