Tesla is preparing for its launch in the Indian market and expanding its customer base here. The brand has been going through various paper work to have a successful launch. However, there is a major challenge for the automaker which is to rival successful EVs and brands in the country. In the automotive market of India, the homegrown automakers Tata and Mahindra hold a significant share of electric models.

In the country, many global brands have entered with their electric line-up and other models.
This automaker is a great player in the Indian EV market with its affordable electric models. The brand now has been moving towards the luxury electric segment with Cyberster as its first one for the line-up.
BYD has a great presence in the country for its charmistic design and high performance. The automaker is gaining a significant customer base in the market with its models such as Sealion 7 and Seal.
VinFast has recently debuted in the Indian market, and many anticipate the launch of its line-up. Models like VF 3, VF 7, and others were showcased at the Auto Expo 2025. The automaker's electric line-up ranges from small affordable models to larger and costlier models that would target a vast range of customers.
