Volvo Cars India has introduced a new version of the XC40 Recharge featuring a single motor positioned at the rear axle. Named E60, this variant is labeled as the 'Plus', with a price tag of Rs 54.95 lakh (ex-showroom), in the country. Bookings for the new variant are currently open and can be made through Volvo India’s official website.
The new E60 variant is equipped with features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-inch digital driver's display, dual-zone climate control, an 8-speaker sound system, park assist, 19-inch alloy wheels, TPMS, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, and wireless phone charging, among others.
Further, being a Volvo, it maintains an array of safety features, including 7 airbags and an ADAS suite comprising adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Collision Warning, and Cross-Traffic Alerts.
Equipped with a 69 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, it boasts a power output of 238 bhp and 420 Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds. The single-motor variant offers a WLTP range of 475 kms. Besides, the top speed of the electric car is limited to 180 kmph.
The Volvo XC40 Recharge E60 single motor competes with other rear-wheel-drive electric vehicles such as the recently launched BYD Seal, Kia EV6 GT Line, and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
