Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Facelift clear image official revealed, bookings start in India
Maruti Suzuki has released the first teaser image of its upcoming Ertiga Facelift. The carmaker has opened bookings for the MPV at a nominal price of Rs 11,000 before its eventual launch in the coming days.
The MPV in its latest avatar will sport significant updates under the skin and slight cosmetic upgrades. As reported earlier, Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the Ertiga Facelift will come equipped with an advanced 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The updated Ertiga becomes the first Maruti product to receive the globally popular 6-speed automatic gearbox, which is expected to replace the ageing 4-speed unit on all Maruti Suzuki models in the coming months. The company will continue to offer the Maruti Ertiga Facelift with petrol and CNG options, which will now be available in the ZXI variant, giving customers more value.
Unlike the rumours that suggest a larger touchscreen infotainment system on the facelift, Maruti has confirmed that the MPV will continue with the current crop of 7-inch SmartPlay Pro Touch Screen Infotainment System. It looks like the brand has skipped equipment like 6-airbags, a 360-degree camera, and HUD on the Ertiga to keep prices in check.
Looking at the recent hike in price from all OEMs, we expect the Maruti Ertiga Facelift to be priced between Rs 8.68 lakh to Rs 11.41 lakh (ex-showroom).
“With over 750,000 delighted customers, Ertiga has been a game-changer in India’s MPV market. We are pleased to introduce the Next-Gen Ertiga, that redefines the style, space, technology, safety, comfort and convenience of travelling together”, commented Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited. He further added, ‘the Next-Gen Ertiga will have thoughtful new-age features, an upgraded powertrain and advanced 6-speed automatic transmission. We are confident that the Next-Gen Ertiga will further delight customers, offering them a more fuel-efficient, powerful, technologically advanced and stylish companion for long journeys together with their loved ones.’
Since its launch, the Ertiga has continued to be a successful formula for Maruti Suzuki. In recent days, the MPV has faced stiff competition from products like the Renault Triber, Kia Carens and more, but it continues to stand its ground and sell over 10,000 units a month. Do you think the Ertiga will continue to be a favourite product for the Indian masses?
