BYD India is all set to launch the facelifted BYD e6 MPV in the Indian market before Diwali this year. For people not in the know, e6 MPV was the first BYD model in India and was introduced as a commercial vehicle. However, the company, later, introduced this electric MPV for private buyers.
The 2024 BYD e6 facelift was unveiled at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in July this year. In the Indonesian market, the MPV is called the M6 and the India-spec model will also carry the same name. The electric MPV has received design changes and an updated interior along with more features.

The updated model comes with cosmetic design changes. It gets new full LED headlamps with new LED daytime running lamps (DRLs). There is a new satin chrome trim with BYD lettering that connects the two headlamp units. The front has a new bumper that accommodates contoured air vents and chrome garnishing.
At the back, the 2024 BYD M6 gets newly styled wraparound LED tail-lights that are larger in size. It comes with a tweaked rear bumper with new chrome treatment. The side profile appears identical to the previous model, except for the new set of alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, the BYD M6 gets a larger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen, which is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It has a revised centre console that houses two wireless charging pads, new buttons and a new drive selector. Adding to it, the MPV also has a newly styled multi-functional steering wheel.
The Indonesian-spec model is offered with 6- or 7-seat options; however, the current e6 in our market, is available as a 5-seater. In terms of features, the new BYD M6 gets climate control, a 360-degree surround view camera, cruise control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and a powered tailgate.
The 2024 BYD M6 gets two battery pack options - a 55.4kWh and a 71.8kWh. While the former offers a range of 420km, the bigger battery pack delivers a range of up to 530km on a single charge. The MPV with smaller battery offers 163hp and 310Nm of torque. The power output increases to 204hp with a bigger battery; however, torque output remains the same. The existing e6 in our market offers 95hp and 180Nm of torque.
