2024 MG Astor receives new features Gets a new base variant called Sprint Remains mechanically unchanged
MG Motor India has just launched the 2024 Astor with a new base variant called Sprint, priced at Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Although there are no major cosmetic updates or mechanical changes to the compact SUV, the vehicle does get some added features.
The 2024 MG Astor is packed with various features for enhanced comfort and convenience. These include ventilated front seats, wireless connections for Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, an auto-dimming IRVM, and a wireless charger among others,
Additionally, this SUV comes with an advanced technology suite called i-SMART 2.0, providing over 80 connected features. Among these features, new additions to the package include the JIO Voice Recognition system that enables voice commands for cricket scores, weather updates, clock, calculator, date/day information, dictionary, news, horoscope, and more. Besides, the vehicle incorporates an anti-theft feature with digital key functionality which is new to the car.
Safety-wise, the MG Astor is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, which includes 14 advanced safety functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and more.
The SUV comes in five different trims namely Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro.
Under the hood, the four-wheeler offers two engine choices. One is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, providing 108 bhp and 144 Nm torque, mated with a 5-speed manual or CVT. The other powertrain option happens to be a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit capable of delivering a power output of 138 bhp with 220 Nm of peak torque paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
