After releasing the teaser, Honda Cars India has confirmed that the next-gen Amaze compact sedan will be launched in the country on 4th of December 2024. The new Honda Amaze will directly rival the newly introduced 3rd gen Dzire, which is scheduled to be launched on November 11, 2024.
The new Amaze compact sedan has already been caught testing on the Indian roads. Going by the spy images and sketch teaser, it is visible that the new model will come with radical design changes. The sketch reveals the front design, which seems heavily inspired from the bigger Honda cars including the new Civic and Accord on sale in global markets.
It comes an all-new mesh-type front grille, new headlamps with LED DRLs, and aggressive lower bumper. The teaser confirms that the new Honda Amaze gets new dual-barrel LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs with sharper looks. There is a thin chrome bar that runs above the blacked-out grille and merges neatly with LED DRLs.
The side and rear profiles are not revealed, but is likely to retain the overall silhouette. The sedan is likely to have new LED tail-lights with smoked treatment, a reverse camera, and a shark fin antenna.
The cabin layout of the new Amaze is likely to be shared with the Elevate compact SUV. It is likely to be equipped with a larger 10-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, a semi-digital instrument console, wireless phone charging, leatherette upholstery and a single-pane sunroof. The sedan could also receive 360-degree surround view camera and City-like Camera-based ADAS or advanced driver assistance system.
The third generation Honda Amaze is based on City's platform, which is modified to accommodate a shorter wheelbase car. The City has a wheelbase of 2600mm, while the Amaze is likely to retain the wheelbase of around 2470mm. It will be powered by the existing 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 90bhp and 110Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
