After introducing the Punch facelift and Sierra, Tata Motors is now ready to introduce two new electric SUVs - the Punch EV facelift and the Sierra EV. In fact, the Tata Punch EV facelift exterior has been revealed ahead of its official launch later this month (on February 20, 2026). It is visible that the micro EV received cosmetic design changes, mostly plastic parts, and there will be no changes to the sheet metal.
It is clearly visible that the Punch EV facelift gets a revised front fascia, featuring a closed-off grille and revised bumper that houses a redesigned scuff plate. Tata Motors gives it a more cleaner look, as the black piece connecting the headlamps and connected DRLs are removed. Another update comes in the form of redesigned aero-optimised alloy wheels, which seems inspired by the ones offered with the Tata Nexon EV.
The small SUV also gets a new ‘Sunlit Yellow’ paint, which we have already seen on the Harrier SUV. The spy images reveal that the rear will also receive subtle design changes. It is likely to get connected LED tail-lamps and a revised lower bumper.
The cabin is expected to receive minimal changes in the form of new colour schemes and more connected tech. It will continue to offer a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with an upgraded software. We expect the infotainment unit will be similar to the one offered on the Nexon EV.
In terms of features, the SUV will have a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree surround view camera, a wireless phone charger, connected car tech, electric sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, 6 airbags, ambient lighting, and others. It is expected that the new Punch EV could get a LEVEL 2 ADAS setup with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist and others.
The Tata Punch EV facelift likely to retain its existing battery options, including a 25kWh and 35kWh with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. Based on the Acti.ev platform, the electric micro SUV is claimed to offer an ARAI certified range of 265km with a 25kWh battery and 365km with a bigger 365kWh battery.
The electric motor with 25kWh battery offers 82hp and 114Nm of torque, while the power and torque output for the 35kWh battery’s motor stands at 122hp and 190Nm, respectively. Previous media reports suggest that the new Punch EV facelift could get a bigger battery pack from the Nexon EV; however, details on the same are yet to be revealed.
The Tata Punch EV has no direct rival in our market, but it comes as an alternative to the likes of the Citroen eC3 and the Tiago EV. The existing model is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh, ex-showroom. While the lower-spec models are expected to retain their prices, the higher-spec model could receive a marginal price hike. We expect the new Punch EV facelift to costs somewhere between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh.
