Japanese car manufacturer, Nissan has confirmed to launch 3 new utility vehicles in the Indian market. The company has finally announced to launch a new entry-level 3-row MPV based on the CMF-A modular platform, which also underpins the Renault Triber. It will be the Nissan's version of the Triber and will share interior packaging and body panels with the French sibling.
The new Nissan 3-row MPV will be launched in FY25, most probably around festive season. It will be a sub-4 meter car and will be marketed as an affordable MPV. We expect the new MPV to share several of its features including the dashboard layout, touchscreen infotainment unit, central console and others with the Magnite SUV. It is most likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, NA petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.
After the Triber-based MPV, the Japanese brand will launch an all-new mid-sized SUV based on the CMF-B modular platform. Renault will launch the third-gen Duster in our market in early 2026. Nissan's version of the mid-sized SUV will arrive in the early FY26, most probably in the Q2 2026. It will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Curvv, Maruti Grand Vitara and others in the segment.
The new Nissan C-SUV will take design inspiration from the globally-popular Nissan Patrol. It will offer a high approach and departure angle along with higher ground clearance to suit Indian road conditions. It will be powered by a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox options. Nissan could also use the 1.5L NA petrol or the 1.0L turbo petrol engine to power the entry-level variants of the C-SUV.
The third product will be the 7-seater derivative of the C-SUV, and will utilize the same CMF-B modular platform. Renault will also introduce a new 7-seater SUV, which is most likely to be based on the Dacia Bigster SUV. In fact, testing of the new Renault SUV has already been started on the foreign soil. Nissan will bring its own iteration of the D-segment SUV in FY26, most probably towards the end of next year.
The new Nissan 7-seater SUV will take on the likes of the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari and others in the category. It is most likely to be powered by a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox choices.
