Hyundai to launch Ni1i 7-seater SUV Hyundai Palisade hybrid SUV by 2028 New 7-seater MPV confirmed for India
The Korean automaker, Hyundai is preparing to launch multiple new vehicles, including SUVs and MPV for the Indian market. The company currently sells only Alcazar in a 7-seater category; however, things will change in near future. Hyundai plans to launch at least 3 new 7-seater cars, including two new SUVs and an all-new MPV in our market.
Hyundai has started working on an all-new SUV, which will be manufactured at the company’s new facility in Talegaon, Pune. Internally codenamed Ni1i, the new 3-row SUV will be positioned above the Alcazar in Hyundai India lineup. It will be one of the first models to come with a petrol-hybrid engine from the Korean brand in India. This SUV will take on the likes of the Mahindra XUV 7XO and the Tata Safari. It is likely to be based on the Tucson LWB sold in China, which is 4680mm in length.
The new Hyundai Ni1i 7-seater SUV is expected to be offered with a 1.6L petrol hybrid setup, which is offered with the global Tucson and other Hyundai and Kia models. The company is also developing a new 1.5L petrol-hybrid engine, which will also power the next-gen Creta. The same could be offered with the new Ni1i SUV.

Hyundai has officially announced to launch the Palisade full-sized SUV in our market by 2028. The SUV could be introduced as a CKD unit; however, some reports suggest that the company is looking to localise the full-size SUV in India and export it to other markets. The SUV could be priced around Rs 50 lakh, and will rival the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and others.
The Hyundai Palisade will be powered by a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a strong hybrid tech. This engine produces 334hp of power and 460Nm of torque, and is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 14.1kmpl. A 6-speed automatic gearbox driving the power to front-wheels will come as standard. It comes with an all-wheel-drive system as standard along with 3 drive modes - Eco, Sport and My Drive, and 3 terrain modes - Mud, Snow and Sand.

Hyundai has officially announced to enter the MPV and off-road SUV segment. The upcoming MPV will enable mobility for all, which suggests that it could be a sub-20 lakh product and will target masses. It could be the Stargazer MPV on sale in select international markets. The MPV will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Kia Carens. Measuring around 4.4 meters in length, the new Hyundai Stargazer is available in 6-and 7-seat configuration.
The new Hyundai 7-seater MPV is based on the same platform that underpins the Kia Carens Clavis. It is likely to be offered with 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L diesel.
