4 Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars - Fronx Hybrid to New-Gen Baleno

Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the Victoris mid-sized SUV to rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and others in the category. In the next 1 year, the company plans to launch multiple new cars with ICE, EV and hybrid powertrains. Here’s a list of top 4 upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars you can expect to launch sometime in 2026 -

Maruti Fronx Facelift

Maruti Suzuki is working on an affordable series hybrid powertrain, which will power the entry-level cars. The new in-house developed hybrid engine will first debut in the Fronx facelift which is likely to arrive in the first half of 2026. The hybrid powertrain will utilise the 1.2L, 3-cylinder, Z-series petrol engine, which will work as a generator to charge the battery and supply power to electric motor.

The Fronx facelift will receive cosmetic design and interior changes along with a longer list of features. MSIL is also planning to add more features to the crossover. It is expected to get a sunroof, which is missing in the current car. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx hybrid is likely to offer a fuel efficiency of over 35kmpl.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Price Expectations

Maruti Suzuki will launch its first electric vehicle in India in the first half of 2026. It was originally planned to go on sale by September this year; however, the launch was delayed due to lack of rare earth materials. The SUV will first go on sale in Europe in January 2026, while India launch could take place in Q2, 2026.

The e Vitara is Suzuki’s first global electric SUV based on an all-new scalable platform. It will be offered with two battery choices - 48.9kWh and 61.1kWh - both will come with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The higher-spec model will offer a certified range of up to 500km on a single charge. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in under 9 seconds. The SUV supports fast charging and the bigger 61.1kWh battery can attain 0 to 80% charging status in 50 minutes.

Grand Vitara Upgrade

It is expected that the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will receive a mid-life update in 2026. The SUV will be equipped with premium features, which MSIL introduced with the Victoris. It is expected to get LEVEL 2 ADAS, a bigger touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver’s display, powered tailgate with gesture control, 8-speaker infinity sound system with Dolby Atmos tech, etc. Other features could include an 8-way powered driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof and Auro Purify with PM 2.5 display.

Another update could be the inclusion of the underbody CNG tank, as it will free up space in the Grand Vitara’s boot. The updated SUV will continue to be offered with the existing 1.5L petrol and 1.5L hybrid engine. The petrol engine is offered with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed torque converter automatic options; battery also gets an AWD drivetrain.

Next-gen Maruti Baleno

Maruti Suzuki is developing the next-gen Baleno hatchback, which is likely to be launched sometime in late 2026 or early 2027. The new model will be based on the modified version of the HEARTECT platform, which underpins the Dzire. The premium hatchback will come with all-new design and interiors along with a new powertrain.

It is likely to be equipped with new premium features such as an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, a bigger touchscreen infotainment unit and ADAS tech. Another big addition will be the new hybrid powertrain, which will first debut in Fronx. The Baleno hybrid is expected to be the most fuel efficient car in the hatchback category.
