During the event of 4Xe Day, Jeep revealed its first all-electric SUV in form of the Avenger. Scheduled for its launch in Europe by early 2023, the EV will debut at the Paris Motor Show on 17th October along with the commencement of its bookings. The American SUV brand plans to introduce four all-electric SUVs in North America and Europe by 2025, which includes Recon, Wagoneer and the Avenger.

All-New Jeep Avenger: Details

The first model to be introduced as a part of the Jeep’s 4Xe electrification plan, the Avenger compact SUV will sit below the Renegade in the brand’s line-up. The electric SUV will be manufactured at the company’s Tychy, Poland-based facility and will see its initial launch in Europe, Japan and South Korea amongst others.

The American SUV maker claims that the Avenger will offer impressive ground clearance, break over and approach angles for its segment, while delivering a modern and technologically advanced interior, with plenty of space for people and cargo.

All-New Jeep Avenger: Underpinnings and Powertrain

The fully electric Avenger will be the first SUV to be based on the Stellantis Group’s STLA platform. Powering the EV will be either a two or a four-electric motor setup depending on the variant, each rated for a power output of 95 bhp. The combined output from these motors will be in the range of 350-400 bhp. The estimated electric driving range will be around 400 kilometres.

The mild-hybrid version of the Avenger will most likely debut at a later stage. It will be underpinned by the CMP platform while fetching power from a 1.2 or 1.5-litre petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system.

All-New Jeep Avenger: Exterior Design and Interiors

Initially presented during the Stellantis ‘Dare Forward’ long-term strategic plan earlier this year, the highlight of the SUV's design is the brand’s signature 7-slat front grille with the distinctive ‘e’ emblem, portraying the EV identity. It is flanked by LED headlamps with integrated DRLs. The lower part of the bumper is finished in black and features a large air dam with the ADAS radar placed right in the centre. Adding some appeal to the side profile are its bulky dual-tone alloy wheels and flared wheel arches. The affair is pretty tidy at the rear with squared-off LED tail lamps, a subtle roof spoiler and a blacked-out rear bumper with silver cladding.

The interiors of the upcoming Jeep SUV are still under wraps; however, earlier spy shots suggest that it will get an all-digital instrument cluster and 10.25-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment.
