Nissan’s Sub-4m MPV to compete in the crowded family car market. Bold new design with advanced tech and three-row seating. Powered by a 1.0L petrol engine, offering both MT and AMT options.
Nissan India is gearing up to launch two exciting new models in the Indian market - a sub-4m MPV and a compact SUV. While the Nissan Tekton SUV has been the center of attention, the upcoming Sub-4m MPV is also expected to make waves in the market. Set to launch in 2026, let’s take a closer look at what we can expect from this new model.
MPVs have become a popular choice among Indian families, with vehicles like the Renault Triber dominating the sub-4m segment. Now, under the Renault-Nissan alliance, Nissan is bringing its own version of this compact family vehicle. This new MPV will be positioned as a practical, affordable, and spacious option, making it a potential rival to the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Rumion.

The design of the upcoming Nissan Sub-4m MPV will closely resemble the Renault Triber, with a few unique touches to give it a distinctive Nissan look. From the spy shots, we can expect a bold, geometric front grille with the Nissan logo at the center. The C-shaped DRLs and LED fog lights will add to the MPV’s modern and sleek appearance.
The side profile mirrors the Triber, but the Nissan version will feature a roofline step for added headroom in the third row. Functional roof rails and a simple, yet practical silhouette will make this vehicle a great choice for families on the go.
Like the Renault Triber, the Nissan Sub-4m MPV will offer three-row seating, making it perfect for larger families. The third-row seats will be easily removable, providing additional space for luggage or other needs. Expect a comfortable and spacious cabin with reclining second and third-row seats, making long drives much more enjoyable for everyone.
Inside the Nissan Sub-4m MPV, you can expect a range of modern tech features. Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, rear AC vents, and a wireless charging pad will keep everyone connected and comfortable. The push-button start and reverse camera will add to the convenience and safety of the vehicle, making it a family-friendly choice.
The Nissan Sub-4m MPV will likely feature the same powertrain as the Renault Triber facelift: a 1.0L 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual (MT) or a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). While it’s possible that a 1.0L turbo petrol engine could also be offered, this is still unconfirmed.
