Kia Motor India has announced a price hike on its models like the Seltos, Sonet, Carens, and the EV6 that have come into effect from January 2023. The automaker has stated that this price increase is due to rising commodity and transportation costs. We therefore take a closer look at each model to determine the amount of increase as per old prices.
Kia Motors smallest SUV offering the Sonet has received a price range increase of Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 depending upon the variant selected. The Sonet’s 1.2-litre petrol manual versions are Rs 20,000 more expensive now while the 1-litre petrol with IMT and DCT costs Rs 25,000 more. Prices now range from Rs 7.69 lakh - Rs 13.39 lakh (ex-showroom). As for the diesel Sonet models, they are now Rs 40,000 more expensive. Their new prices start from Rs 9.45 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level HTE 1.5, going up to Rs 14.39 lakh (ex-showroom) for the X-line automatic trim.
The South Korean automaker’s highly popular compact SUV, the Seltos sees a price increase of Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000 depending on the variant selected. The 1.5-litre petrol models have received a hike of Rs 20,000 while the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol is now Rs 40,000 dearer. New prices for petrol Seltos variants now range from Rs 10.69 lakh to Rs 18.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Talking about the diesel models, then they have gone up by Rs 50,000. The updated prices now stand at Rs 11.89 lakh to Rs 19.15 lakh (ex-showroom).
Last year's introduction in the MPV segment, Kia Carens has gotten more expensive. The base Carens Premium and Prestige 1.5-litre models receive a Rs 20,000 price increase while the rest of the range gets a Rs 25,000 price hike. Prices for the MPV now range from Rs 10.19 lakh to Rs 17.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The diesel Carens on the other hand gets a price increase of Rs 45,000 across the range, with new prices now starting from Rs 12.15 lakh and going up to Rs 18.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia has hiked prices for the recently launched EV6 by Rs 1 lakh. It is offered in two variants, the GT RWD and GT AWD. The former is now priced at Rs 60.95 lakh (ex-showroom) while the latter now comes in at Rs 65.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 ZX variant is priced at Rs 2.31 crore, while the off-road spec GR-S variant is tagged at Rs 2.41 crore (ex-showroom, India).
