Mahindra is all set to create waves in the electric SUV segment with its much-awaited BE 6e, scheduled for unveiling on November 26, 2024. The BE 6e and XEV 9E will be there during Mahindra's event called "Unlimit India." The BE 6e will be battled by the yet-to-be-launched Hyundai Creta EV, along with the other electric SUVs to be launched, like the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and Honda Elevate EV.
Here's how the inside of Mahindra's BE 6e looks. Just like the outside, the interior appears to be somewhat futuristic and driver-centric, unlike most of Mahindra's current design. The massive digital screens, center console-style design for functionality and style, and unique illumination on the logo on the steering wheel characterize this high-techness, a reflection of Mahindra's intention to provide premium immersive driving in electric SUVs.
In interior design, the BE 6e testifies to Mahindra's wish to take the Indian electric SUVs up to a new standard, meeting ambitions of full incorporation into innovative technology with a level of style and comfort. The BE 6e will form the basis for an even more extreme version, the BE 6e Rall-E, intended to be available in October 2025.
The BE 6e is slated to roll out by May 2025 and is expected to be priced between Rs. 17 lakh and Rs. 21 lakh. The product therefore directly competes against Hyundai's much-awaited Creta EV, expected to be priced between Rs. 19 lakh and Rs. 27 lakh. Hyundai hasn't publicized the real specifications of the Creta EV, but it may offer a 45-50kWh battery for an over 400km range. This will come with dual-zone climate control, LED lighting, connected car technologies, and a premium sound system.
While the Hyundai Creta EV will be borrowing most of the features from the petrol Creta, including a 10.25-inch infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning, Mahindra's BE 6e would fight for space in the same segment with that aggressive design and new-age tech.
The launch of BE 6e by Mahindra marks a very important milestone in India's electric SUV space. This automobile brings style, premium features, and competitive prices to the mid-size electric SUV segment in the market, promising strong attraction toward sustainable options.
